Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting of Egypt’s ministerial group for industrial development, attended by key economic ministers and relevant authorities. The meeting resulted in the approval of a new project under the private free zone system: Alstom Railways Components Manufacturing S.A.E. The project will establish an industrial complex in the Borg El Arab logistics and industrial zone.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the complex will consist of two factories on a 40-feddan site, with one focused on producing spare parts for Metro Line 6 and the other on cable manufacturing. This initiative aims to support Egypt’s transportation infrastructure by meeting the growing demand for metro system components.
In addition to the Borg El Arab project, Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir presented updates on plans to utilize 1,200 feddans of land near the sanitary landfill in 10th of Ramadan City. The proposal includes creating factories to recycle landfill waste into products such as interlock tiles, biogas, fertilizers, and other materials. Al-Wazir also highlighted investment opportunities for companies interested in establishing waste recycling stations within the project.
Al-Wazir also reviewed the Integrated Waste Management Complex project in 10th of Ramadan City, which aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030. The project focuses on modernizing waste treatment infrastructure and includes developments in utility connections, road construction, a primary wastewater treatment plant, and irrigation systems for green spaces.

The meeting also addressed plans for the Iron and Steel Company and the Coke Company in the Tebbin area, following the President’s approval for land allocation for environmentally sustainable industrial activities.
