Egypt and Uganda Sign Joint Declaration to Boost Bilateral Relations.


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Ugandan Minister of International Relations Henry Oryem Okello signed a joint declaration to develop bilateral relations and enhance joint African interests. This agreement marks the culmination of the political consultations round held between the two ministers.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers agreed on maintaining ongoing consultations and facilitating exchange visits at all levels to foster bilateral cooperation across various domains. The focus will particularly be on counter-terrorism efforts and peace-building initiatives.

In a bid to bolster economic ties, both parties expressed their commitment to encouraging private sectors in Egypt and Uganda to increase joint trade and investments. This move is expected to significantly contribute to the economic growth and development of both nations.

The ministers also reaffirmed their dedication to regional integrity and sovereignty, in alig
nment with the statute of the African Union and the UN Charter. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of ongoing consultations regarding the Nile River water to reach a beneficial agreement for all Nile-basin states, in accordance with international law.
