CAIRO: Egypt and Qatar are working to enhance their bilateral relations through joint ventures in investments, trade, tourism, and strategic projects across various sectors, including transport, industry, electricity, and renewable energy. This commitment was articulated by Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport.
According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Wazir spoke at a National Day event hosted by the Qatari Embassy in Cairo, where he underscored the historical and robust ties between the two nations. He highlighted the substantial opportunities available for both countries and urged officials and business leaders from Egypt and Qatar to collaborate towards common objectives in economic cooperation.
The event also marked the conclusion of a productive year for diplomatic engagement, with numerous official visits exchanged between leaders and business figures from both countries. These interactions have paved the way f
or new investment prospects and reinforced the growing partnership between Egypt and Qatar. El-Wazir praised the leadership of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for emphasizing the necessity of cooperation to tackle regional and global issues.
In light of the unprecedented challenges facing both nations, El-Wazir emphasized the importance of collaboration and collective efforts to foster peace, stability, and mutual respect, with the aim of achieving development and prosperity.
