Egypt and Mauritius Explore Enhanced Cultural and Artistic Cooperation


Port Louis: Egyptian Ambassador to Mauritius Abir Alam Eldin engaged in discussions with Mauritian Minister of Arts and Culture Mahendra Gondeea to explore ways to enhance cultural and artistic cooperation between Egypt and Mauritius.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the two officials examined the possibility of organizing cultural events in Mauritius to showcase Egypt’s cultural, historical, and literary heritage. Gondeea expressed Mauritius’ interest in strengthening cultural cooperation with Egypt and emphasized his readiness to support the organization of joint cultural and artistic events. This includes the exchange of artist delegations and hosting art exhibitions.



Both sides highlighted the importance of supporting cultural projects that reflect the rich heritage and history of their respective countries. They agreed on the role of cultural diplomacy in fostering understanding and dialogue between civilizations and peoples.



Additionally, it was agreed that the Egyptian Embassy in Mauritius will participate in the “Africa Day” celebrations by displaying translated Egyptian films. This initiative aims to promote Egyptian cinema as a significant element of Egypt’s soft power.
