Egypt and Iran Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments


Jeddah: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty has discussed with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi the latest developments in the region. The ministers had a meeting on Saturday 8/3/2025 on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the foreign ministers’ level in Jeddah.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of defusing tension and deescalating the situation in the region during this critical period. He reviewed the outcomes of the recent Arab summit, which took place in Cairo on March 4, and highlighted Egypt’s readiness to host an international conference on the reconstruction of Gaza. This initiative aims to work in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations to gather the necessary funding to implement the Arab plan.
