Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty expressed in a telephone call on Saturday, February 8, 2025, Egypt’s keen interest in enhancing cooperation with Hungary. The discussion, held with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, P©ter Szijj¡rt³, focused on joint manufacturing and localizing industry within Egypt.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the call, Abdelatty praised the strong bilateral relations between Egypt and Hungary. He welcomed the upcoming fifth round of the Egyptian-Hungarian Joint Economic Committee, which is scheduled to take place in Cairo in April 2025.
Additionally, Abdelatty commended the progress in parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized Egypt’s commitment to reaching an agreement on facilitating Egyptian labor migration to Hungary, citing Egypt’s experience in supplying skilled workers to European Union countries.
Furthermore, Abdelatty thanked Hungary for its supportive stance toward Egypt within the European Union. He highlighted Egypt’s pivotal role in ensuring security and stability in the Middle East and protecting Europe from the risks of irregular migration.
The two ministers also exchanged views on key regional developments, including the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire agreement, security in the Red Sea, stability in the Sahel and Sahara region, and trilateral cooperation in Africa.
