Cairo: In a significant move to bolster economic relations, Egypt and Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) have successfully initiated the first round of a joint economic summit. This event marked the culmination of Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib’s visit to Germany, where he engaged in discussions with NRW’s state minister for economic affairs to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Khatib emphasized the critical need to strengthen economic and trade ties between Egypt and NRW, Germany’s most populous state. During the summit, which was attended by representatives from 100 German companies, Khatib highlighted Egypt’s economic developments and outlined the financial, industrial, and trade policies being implemented by the Egyptian government.
Khatib extended an invitation to the participating companies to explore and seize the investment opportunities available in Egypt. He also focused on the positive outcomes of E
gypt’s economic reform efforts, showcasing them as a testament to the country’s readiness and potential for increased foreign investment. The summit represents a strategic effort by both Egypt and NRW to foster a robust economic partnership, leveraging each region’s unique strengths and opportunities.
