Egypt and Germany Collaborate on New Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration


Cairo: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Nabil Habashi and Country Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) Regina Kuhlmann signed the project implementation contract for the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (EGC).



According to State Information Service Egypt, the center’s mission is to offer legal migration opportunities for qualified Egyptian youth and reduce illegal migration by providing viable alternatives. Established by presidential decree no. 51/2020, the institution also delivers vocational training in various fields. It carries out socio-economic integration of deported illegal migrants, providing them with social and psychological support.
