SARAJEVO: Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina are exploring avenues for cooperation in military manufacturing and investment, following recent diplomatic engagements between the two nations. Egyptian Ambassador to Sarajevo, Walid Hagag, held discussions with Bosnian Defense Minister Zukan Heleze, who conveyed Bosnia’s interest in leveraging Egypt’s expertise in military manufacturing.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Hagag also met with Stasa Kosarac, Bosnia’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Economy, to deliberate on enhancing trade exchanges and increasing Egyptian investments in Bosnia. The discussions included strategies to boost the flow of Bosnian tourists to Egypt, with an agreement under preparation to strengthen tourism ties between the countries.
In November, Zeljka Cvijanovic, Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed her country’s interest in Egypt’s experience with institutional capacity-building. During her meeting with Ambassador Hagag, Cvijanovic hig
hlighted the potential for bolstering economic cooperation, tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. She emphasized the importance of maintaining the current level of coordination, recognizing Egypt’s role as a stabilizing force in the Middle East.
