Cairo: Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, met with Australian Ambassador Axel Wabenhorst to discuss boosting agricultural trade, livestock, and modern irrigation systems. The meeting also focused on expanding cooperation in political, economic, commercial, and scientific sectors, while exchanging views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Farouk highlighted Egypt’s success in gaining access to the Australian market for various agricultural products, including citrus fruits, dates, and textiles, all of which are internationally recognised for their competitive quality. He also emphasised Egypt’s recent infrastructure advancements and its commitment to forming strategic partnerships that foster economic growth and prosperity.
Ambassador Wabenhorst reiterated Australia’s role as a key partner in agriculture and food security, noting that both nations share a strong commitment to regional stability and addressing climate change.
