Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy met with his Algerian counterpart Walid Sadi to discuss ways to enhance bilateral sports cooperation and develop joint initiatives to support African sports.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Sobhy emphasized that under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt places great importance on strengthening relations with African nations, particularly in the sports sector, which serves as a vital communication bridge between peoples.
He highlighted Egypt’s commitment to its leading role in supporting African sports, as demonstrated by hosting numerous continental and international sporting events. The minister reaffirmed Egypt’s support for the African Olympic movement and its dedication to working with African nations to achieve a comprehensive sports renaissance.
