Egyptian Ambassador to Prague Mahmoud Afifi met earlier this week with Deputy Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs European Affairs Jan Marian to discuss the potential role of Czechia in developing Egyptian-European relations in the sectors of trade, investment, energy, and developmental cooperation.

Ambassador Afifi underscored the existence of the EU-Egyptian Association Agreement and the opportunities to capitalize on it.

On his side, the Czech deputy foreign minister valued Egyptian ties with his country, and expressed support to current communications between the country and the union to upgrade relations, particularly in the economic and developmental fields, and in the framework of handling food security and energy security.

The two diplomats also conferred over issues of mutual concern in both the Middle East and Europe, according to the statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saturday.
