Cairo: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started the week off on a positive note against Arab and foreign selling. Benchmark index inched its way into the green by 0.01 percent to end the session at 30,014.27 points, followed by the Shariah index climbing by 0.06 percent to reach 3,167.88 points. EGX 70 closed the session with no change (0 percent) with 8,610.12 points, while EGX 100 rose by 0.09 percent to end at 11,742.18 points.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Sunday trading saw 2.984 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.409 billion. Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.2251 trillion, adding around LE 3.6 billion compared to Thursday’s close of LE 2.2215 trillion. Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with 88.37 million. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with LE 54.3 million and LE 34 million, respectively.
