Educational remedial interventions competition winners honored


Minister of Education, Dr. Azmi Mahafzeh, on Thursday honored the winners of the Remedial Interventions Program Competition in its first session, held for the 2023/2024 academic year, during a celebration at Al-Hussein Cultural Center.

The competition, which was organized by the ministry and funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), aims to value the educational and administrative workers’ “distinguished” performance in implementing and raising awareness of educational remedial interventions, according to a ministry statement.

The award also seeks to enhance the culture of excellence and teamwork within the Kingdom’s school community and motivate educational and administrative staff to implement remedial activities with the “highest” degree of “efficiency and effectiveness.”

Furthermore, the competition eyes to understand and evaluate its direct and indirect effects, mainly the extent of integration at the school level.

During the honoring ceremony, 15 public schools from the K
ingdom’s different regions won the awards and 6 media and liaison officers representing a number of educational directorates.

Additionally, the minister honored 8 students from Marka School for Hearing Impaired, who volunteered to record sign language content for 60 videos representing texts from the remedial materials for the Arabic language subject for 4-9 grades.
