Education ministry: Many countries desire to stand on Egypt’s efforts to modernize its education system

Minister of Education and Technical Education Tarek Shawqi said many countries want to get acquainted with Egypt’s efforts to modernize its education system to conform with international standards.

During a meeting Tuesday with Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science in the Arab States Abdulaziz Almuzaini the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation.

Also, ways of honing teachers’ skills and upgrade their capabilities through various training programs figured high during the discussions, especially that teaching cadres constitute a key pillar in the EDU 2.0 reforms that mark a drastic shift in the culture of Egyptian education.

In EDU 0.2, traditional methods of rote memorization and high stakes examinations are exchanged for a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and learning 21st-century skills via technology integration.

For his part, the UNESCO official welcomed cooperation with the ministry of education, with a view to developing the education process in Egypt.

He voiced preparedness for providing full support to the ministry in this regard through devising multi-digital training programs that guarantee sustainable technical education quality.
