Minister of Education and Technical Education Reda Hegazy on Monday left for Dar el Salaam City, Tanzania, to take part in the 2023 Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit, slated for July 25-26.

Minister Hegazy is due to take part in a number of general sessions of the two-day summit, which seeks bringing a bottom-up demand to human capital prioritization and investments by discussing challenges and bottlenecks to human capital accumulation along with identification of priorities and drivers of growth.

In a session titled “Reskilling and Skilling for the Jobs of The Future”, Hegzy will review the role of partnership between the Education Ministry and private sector in upgrading the abilities of the human capital and qualifying youths for the labor market.

The minister will also participate in the Plenary Ministerial Council, which will convene Tuesday under the theme: “Investing in and Utilizing Human Capital for Growth and Opportunities (Achievements and Challenges)” .

Tanzania hosts the human capital summit, in collaboration with the World Bank, under the theme “Linking Investments in Human Capital to Economic Growth and Harnessing the Demographic Dividend”.

The Africa Human Capital Heads of State Summit comes in response to engagements with government focal points on the need to draw attention to the role of human capital in economic growth and elevate the discussion on the importance of investing in people.

The Summit will foster technical deliberation, share the latest knowledge on human capital, and conclude with concrete commitments and next steps from the participating Heads of State.
