DUBAI, Dubai Sports Council (DSC), in collaboration with ESM Co., is preparing to organise Dubai Schools Games, the biggest sports tournament of its kind in Dubai, which represents the preliminary step for scouting and developing sports talents before moving to join clubs.

DSC organises this Tournament to increase the school’s awareness of the importance of the exercise of sport and physical activities as a vital way to boost physical and mental health and enjoy a happy life.

The Organising Committee convened coordinating meetings with DSC to discuss the latest preparations for the launch of the 4th edition of the Tournament. The meetings dealt with rules and regulations of the competitions and the Olympic games plan so that all Olympic competitions can be enlisted in the Tournament, and sufficient reports are prepared on sports talents who are named from all competitions.

The Tournament allows many students to participate in sports competitions, as participation is free for all schools and students from 9 to 19 years old.

The Talents Scouting Programme is implemented in all sports competitions. Representatives from Dubai clubs attend the competitions to scout promising talents and to follow their performance and progress.

A sports file has been created for each player who participates in the Tournament so that he can utilise this file when he moves to the university stage or when he joins a sports club.

The 3rd edition of Dubai Schools Games, held during the last sports season, witnessed remarkable success, and it was organised with the participation of more than 5,000 students from 220 governmental and private schools who competed in 22 sports competitions.
