DUBAI: The Positive Spirit Council of Dubai has initiated the ‘Al Baraha Community Forum’, which offers a mix of sports and educational activities for the residents of the Al Baraha area in Dubai.
This event aligns with the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to strengthen communication with all segments of the community.
The community forum takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 17:00 to 23:00 at Al Baraha. It is a collaborative effort involving the Council of Police Station Directors, Al Muraqqabat Police Station, and strategic partners, with active participation from volunteers in the ‘Policeman in Your Neighbourhood’ programme.
The event was attended by Brigadier Rashid Mohammed Saleh Al Shehhi, Director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station, Fatima Buhjair, President of the Positive Spirit Council, and her deputy Captain Saeed Ghadir.
Brig. Al Shehhi highlighted the significance of the Al Baraha Community Forum in strengthening relationships a
nd communication between Dubai’s resident communities and the police, achieving strategic goals of promoting community happiness and enhancing safety and security. He also noted that the forum focuses on improving quality of life, fostering social harmony, creating a joyful living environment in residential areas, and instilling tolerance, coexistence, and respect for others.
Running until 29th September, the forum features sports such as ‘air rowing,’ ‘stationary cycling,’ and ‘tug of war.’ It also includes public awareness lectures about negative phenomena in residential areas, enhances community awareness, and showcases various services offered by Dubai Police.
