The “Doama” (Pillar) programme of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) has announced that 344 individuals have benefited from the training courses.

Doama aims to enhance the capabilities of social care providers in private sector social centres catering to the elderly and people with disabilities. It offers free training workshops to ensure caregivers are proficient in delivering appropriate care at home or in private social centres.

She highlighted that the “Doama” initiative is accessible to Sharjah residents and citizens, who can apply via the department’s website sssd.shj.ae.

Al Nuaimi detailed that the “Doama” programme spans three days with a total of nine training hours, available in Arabic, English, and Urdu to accommodate the language preferences of social care providers. The workshops are overseen by specialised teams in eldercare and dis
