In an event considered the first of its kind at Palestine Polytechnic University, the first medical scientific research day was held for the first batch of students majoring in human medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences yesterday, Thursday. This prominent event witnessed the participation of 115 male and female student doctors, who presented and discussed 34 scientific medical research in front of an elite group of academics and experts in the medical field.
The event was attended by a number of members of the university’s Board of Trustees and a large crowd that included the students’ supervisors, doctors, distinguished legal figures from the medical and health sector in Palestine, and the students’ families who were happy with the harvest of their children’s efforts, which culminated in qualitative medical research.
The event was opened with a welcome speech from Mr. Ahmed Bayoud Al-Tamimi, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, President of the Uni
versity Association and Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. He said: ‘This day represents the culmination of our ongoing efforts to promote scientific research and encourage innovation. Seeing these students presenting their research They achieve distinguished scientific achievements that reinforce our belief in the importance of investing in medical education and scientific research as a basic foundation for building a better future.’
He added: “We are committed to supporting the ambitions of our students and providing all the necessary resources and capabilities to achieve their vision and goals.”
In his speech, the President of the University, Dr. Mustafa Abu Al-Safa, expressed his pride in the efforts of the students and faculty members in achieving this achievement, which reflects the university’s commitment to providing high-quality education that supports scientific research and professional development.
He stressed the importance of this event in enhancing students’ scientific research
skills and developing their abilities to analyze and investigate medical problems, which contributes to raising the level of health care in Palestine.
For his part, Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Majid Al-Dweik, expressed his happiness and pride in the students’ performance, saying: ‘This day is a true reflection of what can be achieved through dedication and hard work. The research presented today is not only academic achievements, but rather real contributions to the development of Medical knowledge and clinical applications. We at the College of Medicine are committed to providing full support to our students at all stages of their education and encourage them to continue research and innovation.’
Dr. Muhammad Tahaina, Chairman of the Scientific Research Committee at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, indicated that the research presented on this day varied between multiple medical fields, including chronic diseases, public health, medical technology, and clinical research, which reflects
the diversity and depth of the students’ interests and their ability to Addressing contemporary medical issues in innovative ways.
This research sparked the interest of attendees and opened doors for discussion and constructive interaction between students and academics. At the conclusion of the event, the distinguished students were honored for their research, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participants, in appreciation of their efforts and dedication to research work.
Holding the first Scientific Medical Research Day at Palestine Polytechnic University is an important step towards enhancing scientific research in the medical field, and encouraging students to engage in research activities since their studies, which contributes to preparing a generation of distinguished doctors who are able to contribute effectively to improving health services and contribute to Community development
