State Information Service (SIS) Chairman Diaa Rashwan said that the industrial sector has received unprecedented attention over the past 7 years as it is the locomotive of the economic development and also because it is one of the key pillars of sustainable development, and a source of creating more permanent job opportunities.
Rashwan said that the industrial sector contributed by about 17% of the GDP, adding that the industrial sector accommodates about 15% of the total regular employment, in addition to its contribution to the export activity by more than half of Egypt’s non-oil commodity exports.
This came in the editorial of the special edition of the “Egyptians Abroad” periodical, issued by the State Information Service on the occasion of the “Egypt Can with Industry Conference”. The conference is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and is organized by the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministries of Trade and Industry, the Public Enterprise Sector, and the Ministry of State For Military Production, the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the General Authority for Investment, and the concerned authorities.
He added that this special edition of the Egyptians Abroad addresses a number of topics on investment opportunities in Egypt, Egypt strategy in water management, the monorail project, the Museum of Egypt’s capitals in the new administrative capital and the 20th anniversary of the opening of Bibliotheca Alexandria, in addition to other topics.
