Development largest guarantee to provide job chances, improve living standards

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait asserted Egypt under the wise political leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi believes that development is the largest guarantee to provide job opportunities for nearly one million graduates annually.

Development is also important to improve living standards of citizens and offering quality services to them, added Maait during talks with a delegation from the World Bank (WB), with the Bank’s country director

So the State is very keen on maximizing spending on developmental investments, taking into account green economy transition to set the stage for more investments by the Private Sector, the minister said.

The move is also meant to strengthen industry and boost its production capabilities as well as deepening local component and stimulating exportation, according to him.

The Egyptian government is appreciating efforts exerted by the WB to support unprecedented development nationwide, he said, adding the country will also go ahead with implementing “Decent Life” presidential initiative, which calls for developing the Egyptian countryside.

In turn, the WB officials said they are keen on promoting successful partnership with Egypt.

They said they are looking forward to expanding cooperation vistas with Egypt.

The WB is ready for cooperating with Egypt to render upcoming climate change summit (COP27) a success, they added.
