ABU DHABI: The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, today launched Sahatna, an integrated-mobile app.

The app empowers residents to manage their health by providing simple and convenient access to a wide range of health and wellness services such as comprehensive appointment booking, teleconsultations, access to health records and genomic reports and many other advanced features.

Revealed at the world largest technology show, GITEX 2024 in Dubai, this transformative application aims to enhance the patient healthcare experience in Abu Dhabi. The application is set to spur on emirate-wide behaviour change that will lead to improved long-term health outcomes and a healthier future for all.

Sahatna, meaning ‘Our health’ in Arabic, marks a significant milestone in the Department of Health’s ongoing commitment to harnessing the power of data to create the world’s most intelligent, patient-centric healthcare system. Continually, addressing the
unique health needs of Abu Dhabi’s community and ensuring a healthier future for all residents.

Among the key features, with Sahatna’s robust appointments scheduling system, users will have access to the emirate’s entire healthcare ecosystem at their fingertips and choose to engage with their care providers in-person or through a video consultation.

Users can also access their medical records in Malaffi and connect the profiles of their loved ones, keeping track of their family’s health as well as screening and vaccine records. Through Sahatna, for the first time, the participants of the Emirati Genome Program (EGP) will have access to their personalised wellness and lifestyle genomic reports, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and lifestyle based on their unique genetic makeup.

The unveiling of the app was attended by Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of DoH, along with several prominent leaders and representatives of part
ners and stakeholders.

Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, said, ‘Abu Dhabi continues to make great strides in cementing its position as a leading healthcare destination globally, transforming patient care and population health management. At the DoH, we are committed to creating a thriving society by empowering our residents to lead happier, healthier, and longer lives. Owing to our wise leadership, and fuelled by our passionate partners, we have built a robust digital healthcare infrastructure. Building on this foundation we are now delivering technology innovations such as Sahatna that seamlessly integrates our entire healthcare ecosystem to enhance access, quality, and personalised wellness for all.’

The app includes innovative features like an AI symptom checker, allowing users to input their symptoms and receive potential condition assessments. This tool helps users understand the severity of their symptoms and decide whether to seek emergency care or visit
an urgent healthcare centre. Additionally, the app integrates with wearable devices to track wellness metrics such as sleep patterns and step counts. By analysing users’ activity history, it also offers personalised wellness goals, encouraging users to stay active and improve overall health.

Sahatna was created in partnership between the DOH and Abu Dhabi Health Data Service (ADHDS), a premier digital health solutions company and the operator of Malaffi.
