It is worth noting that in recent years, the Fund for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Addiction has achieved significant success in the field of treatment and rehabilitation centres for addiction patients according to international standards, as well as in preventive programmes. Egypt’s experience has become one of the leading models at the regional level, prompting many countries to seek the Fund’s assistance in developing plans and strategies to reduce drug demand, similar to the Egyptian experience. Over the past period, the Fund for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Addiction has hosted numerous delegations from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Sudan, Oman, and other countries to learn about the Fund’s experience in establishing “Azima” centres for the free and confidential treatment and rehabilitation of addiction patients, as well as psychological support, social rehabilitation, and economic empowerment programmes for those recovering from addiction, as part of providing post-treatment services to red
uce relapse and reintegrate recovering individuals into society. Additionally, there is a focus on early prevention and the implementation of awareness-raising activities to protect young people from falling into the traps of addiction.
