Defense Minister Inspects Red Sea Naval Base


Cairo: Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel-Mageed Saqr inspected the Red Sea Naval Base, accompanied by Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa, commanders of the main branches, and senior military officers. The inspection tour was aimed at assessing the Armed Forces’ combat readiness and preparedness.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Saqr was briefed on the Naval Force personnel’s combat missions and training activities, which have enabled them to achieve high levels of efficiency and combat readiness. During his visit, he inspected several naval units to ensure their readiness and engaged with specialized crews about their execution methods of assigned tasks and their mastery of modern combat systems integrated into the naval forces.

Saqr conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s appreciation to the navy personnel and emphasized the Armed Forces’ General Command’s commitment to enhancing and developing the combat capabilities of the naval forces. This developme
nt is in line with the latest systems to ensure the protection of Egypt’s coasts and territorial waters against maritime threats from various strategic directions.
