Defence Chief Stresses Need to Maintain Highest Levels of Combat Preparedness


Cairo: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Abdul-Maguid Saqr, reaffirmed the unwavering support the Armed Forces attach for its personnel, recognising their indispensable role in safeguarding Egypt’s security and stability. Saqr’s remarks came as he joined an Iftar banquet with Air Force fighters.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with commanders of the main branches and senior officers, attended the gathering. The event featured a speech by Sheikh Khaled Al-Gendi, a member of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, highlighting the virtues of Ramadan and its role in instilling patience in the hearts of the fighters. He also emphasized the significance of Laylat Al-Qadr, the night when the Holy Qur’an was revealed.



General Saqr conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s greetings to the Air Force fighters, expressing appreciation for their sincere efforts in defending the homeland amid the complex security challenges facing the region. He emphasized the General Command’s commitment to providing continuous support to the Air Force, enhancing its combat capabilities to ensure efficiency and competence in carrying out assigned tasks.



The Commander-in-Chief highlighted the importance of continued training and maintaining the highest levels of preparedness and combat readiness. He stressed the need for improving the technical efficiency of weapons and equipment to protect the homeland and safeguard its sanctities amidst rapid regional changes. Saqr praised the Armed Forces for their continuous efforts to preserve the nation’s capabilities, willing to make any sacrifices necessary.
