The Ministry of Investment has offered an investment opportunity on Invest.jo to establish a dermatology medical resort at the Dead Sea Development Zone. The platform projects that the project will have 50 rooms, 75 beds, and 10 specialized medical clinics. It is expected to require an investment of $4.8 million and has an anticipated internal rate of return between 17% and 24%, creating 60 job opportunities. The resort targets patients suffering from dermatological conditions like psoriasis and eczema, respiratory illnesses, high blood pressure, joint issues and conditions, and rheumatism. The platform identified the project’s success factors, including the resort’s location and scenic view. These factors are expected to attract investors in the healthcare sector, increase the number of foreign tourists visiting the Kingdom, and promote the concept of medical tourism in Jordan The Dead Sea is famous for its salts and mineral-saturated black mud, which contain 26 important elements for the human body, such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, bromine, sulfate, lithium, strontium, iodine, iron, selenium, chrome, and zinc. Water, air, soil, and sun at the Dead Sea offer natural treatment of dermatological conditions. Sunshine at the lowest point on Earth is less harmful than in other places. The Dead Sea’s position and the steam blanket that rises over it cause a high evaporation rate, which helps reduce ultraviolet (UV) rays as well as UVB rays that cause sunburn. The Dead Sea region is rich in oxygen: 10% more than at the Mediterranean level. In addition to that, pollutant factors are very low, resulting in clean air that has proven to be of great benefit to those who suffer from respiratory illnesses.
