ABU DHABI: The Cultural Foundation of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) has opened “A Way of Surviving, A Way of Life…”, an exhibition by artist Zineb Sedira.
Running from 3rd October 2024 to 8th March 2025, the exhibition features Sedira’s cinematic work from 2002 to 2022, exploring themes of identity, memory, and resistance.
Key films include Dreams Have No Titles (2022), mise-en-scène (2019), Image Keepers (2010), and Mother Tongue (2002).
The centrepiece, Dreams Have No Titles, presented as a cinema box installation, reflects Sedira’s personal story and the history of anti-colonial cinema in Algeria.
Other highlights include mise-en-scène, which reimagines archival footage from Algerian anti-colonial films, and Image Keepers, a biographical portrait of photographer Mohamed Kouaci. Mother Tongue captures intergenerational conversations among Sedira, her mother, and her daughter.
Sedira’s films blend personal stories with historical narratives, offering audiences deep insights i
nto migration, memory, and culture. The exhibition is free and open to the public at the Cultural Foundation.
