MP Mark Daou wrote today on platform ‘X”: ‘The Security Council report related to Resolution 1559 has been issued and we have reviewed it. The report stresses the need to address the most important factors affecting Lebanese society and the sovereignty of the state, including the issues of illegal weapons and Israel’s constant violation of Lebanese airspace. We affirm our position on electing the president as soon as possible, in addition to supporting the judiciary to conduct transparent investigations into the most prominent cases such as the port explosion, the Tayouneh events, and the assassination of Luqman Slim. We also emphasize the importance of the state extending its authority over the entire Lebanese territory and eliminating any weapons outside the legitimacy of the state, as well as controlling the borders to prevent smuggling and migration. We also call on the international community to exert pressure on the Israeli enemy to stop its attacks on Lebanon and its violation of sovereignty by striki
ng Syrian territory from the country’s airspace.’
