Nicosia: During a meeting held in Cyprus, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi delivered an official invitation from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to attend the coming Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025) which will be held this February.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this meeting comes following the 10th summit of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece, recently held in Cairo in January.
EGYPES is expected to witness the signing of important agreements to develop the Kronos and Aphrodite fields located in the Cypriot exclusive economic zone, and link them to Egyptian energy infrastructure. This will accelerate the production of natural gas from the two fields, ensuring its access to local and global markets through the advanced Egyptian infrastructure in the fields of processing, transportation and liquefaction.
The Cypriot President expressed his gratitude for the generous invitation, confirmed his acceptance, and conveyed his eagerness to attend this significant event, which will include the signing of key agreements for the development of Cypriot fields.
He also shared his optimism about these projects, emphasizing their importance in advancing economic integration and strengthening energy security between the two countries.
