Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem on Friday mourned writer and novelist Dr. Fawzy Fahmy, who passed away earlier in the day at the age of 83.
In statements, the minister said culture in Egypt and the Arab world have lost one of its key pillars, adding that he left remarkable effect in the fields of theatre and critic criticism.
Fahmy was also a member of the Supreme Council of Culture and the former president of the Academy of Arts.
She offered her condolences to the deceased’s family, friends and fans.
