Doha: Dr Ahmed Fouad Hano, the Minister of Culture, today inspected the final preparations and logistical arrangements for the launch of the “Egyptian Cultural Days in Qatar,” which will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 January, and continue until 31 January, at “Darb Al-Saai” in the Qatari capital, Doha.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during his tour, the Minister of Culture reviewed the exhibition of traditional handicrafts that reflects the richness of Egypt’s diverse heritage, as well as the workshops and live demonstrations of handicrafts that highlight the unique skills of Egyptian artisans. He also visited the puppet and shadow play workshops, which showcase the arts of ancient Egypt and their deep connection to popular culture.
The minister listened to a detailed explanation of the arts of the Egyptian Oud House, which will present distinctive performances reflecting the development of Egyptian music and its rich heritage. He also visited the visual arts exhibition hall and expressed his a
dmiration for the quality of the participating artworks.
During the tour, Dr Ahmed Fouad Hano praised the level of organisation and preparation, thanking all the artists and creators participating in these events, appreciating their efforts to highlight the aesthetics of Egyptian heritage and enhance its status on the international stage. The minister affirmed that these events represent an important cultural bridge between Egypt and Qatar, providing an opportunity for the Qatari and international audience to learn about various aspects of Egyptian culture.
The Minister of Culture highlighted the importance of the accompanying artistic programmes, which will include musical and singing performances by prominent artists, puppet shows, and Tanoura performances, in addition to screenings of classic films and educational workshops for children and youth. He commended the diversity of activities, which represent a unique blend of traditional heritage and contemporary artistic expression, showcasing the Egyptian
cultural identity in all its aspects.
The minister concluded his tour by sending a message of thanks to all those involved in organising the events, noting that such cultural initiatives open new horizons for creative collaboration between countries and underscore the importance of culture as a means of enhancing understanding and communication among peoples.
The “Egyptian Cultural Days in Qatar” events are part of the Ministry of Culture’s vision to promote Egyptian soft power and highlight Egyptian heritage and arts in international forums, contributing to sustainable civilizational and cultural communication.
