Continued Israeli airstrikes on Gaza leave dozens of civilian casualties

GAZA: Today marked another tragic escalation in the Gaza Strip as Israeli warplanes and artillery continued their airstrikes and shelling across the war-ravaged enclave, resulting in casualties and widespread destruction on the 266th day of the ongoing Israeli genocide.

According to medical sources, at least 11 Palestinians were killed and more than 40 others were injured when Israeli forces targeted the tents of displaced persons in the Al-Mawassi area west of Rafah in southern Gaza.

Israeli airstrikes also struck multiple locations near the municipality of Shoka, east of Rafah, resulting in additional fatalities and injuries among civilians.

In the central Gaza Strip, two Palestinians were killed and several others were injured when Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a group of civilians along the coastal Rashid Street west of the Nuseirat refugee camp. The wounded were rushed to Al-Aqsa Hospital in nearby Deir al-Balah.

Further north in Gaza City, airstrikes by Israeli warplanes targeted resident
ial buildings in the Shejaiya neighborhood east of the city. Medical teams reported receiving casualties, including fatalities, and treated the wounded at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in the city.

Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shells struck the Sheikh Ajleen neighborhood west of Gaza City, causing damage but no immediate reports of casualties or injuries.

Earlier in the day, Israeli warplanes and artillery had targeted residential homes and displaced persons’ tents in central Gaza, resulting in the killing of four civilians, including a woman and a child.

Rescue and ambulance crews worked tirelessly to recover three bodies, including that of a child, from the rubble of the Abu Qenis family home, which was hit by an Israeli airstrike in Deir al-Balah.

The Israeli military also continued its heavy gunfire towards residential homes in the Shejaiya neighborhood, accompanied by ongoing airstrikes.

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7th last year, Israeli forces have killed at least 37,765 Palest
inians, mostly comprising children and women.

The number of injuries has climbed to 86,429, with thousands still trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
