The summit will see the participation of several heads of state, prime ministers, ministers, ambassadors, and officials from international institutions. The “AI Action Summit” aims to coordinate international efforts and initiatives related to artificial intelligence, including United Nations bodies, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), as well as the G7 and G20. The summit also seeks to enhance cooperation among international entities active in this field. The summit focuses on five key areas: using AI for the public good; trustworthy and secure AI technologies; the future of work, innovation, and culture; and global governance of AI technology.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Amr Talaat will participate in the summit sessions and several accompanying events to highlight Egypt’s efforts in the field of artificial intelligence and the opportunities for cooperation with international groups interested in using AI for sustainable development. Tomorrow, Sunday, Dr. Amr Talaat is scheduled to speak at a coordinating ministerial meeting of members of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) and interested countries, which will take place on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit. The meeting will focus on the comprehensive approach and leadership adopted by GPAI in global AI governance, aiming to explore future cooperation opportunities with countries from different regions.

The meeting seeks to facilitate exchanges among the invited countries and enhance international coordination on AI governance, as well as discuss key priorities for 2025. Dr. Amr Talaat is also expected to hold several important meetings with some officials from French companies on the sidelines of the summit, discussing investment opportunities in the communications and information technology sector, as well as meeting with officials from various international institutions to discuss cooperation opportunities in related fields.

It is worth noting that the “AI Action Summit” has been prepared using a participatory approach, with experts from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology participating in discussions related to using AI for the public good, as well as meetings on technology governance. Egypt’s participation in the summit is a continuation of the efforts made by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in international negotiations on AI governance, during events related to the 79th United Nations General Assembly, as well as during the G7 and G20 meetings, and ongoing collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the ministry’s participation in the International AI Alliance Summit and cooperation with UNESCO.
