Communication minister confers with Yemeni counterpart on boosting cooperation

Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talat on Tuesday conferred with his Yemeni counterpart Najeeb Al-Awj on means of boosting joint cooperation in the field of communication and information technology.

 

The meeting comes as part of a current official visit by a Yemeni delegation to Egypt under Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik.

 

During the meeting, Talat said the meeting comes within the framework of distinguished relations binding Egypt and Yemen and in view of the great interest by the two political leaderships to beef up ties at all levels.

 

The Egyptian minister briefed the Yemeni minister on Egypt’s digitization strategy and the most prominent achievements in the field of digital transformation, development of the information infrastructure as well as technology-related issues.

 

The Yemeni minister, for his part, praised the Egyptian experiment in the field of communication and information technology.

 

The minister made a tour of the Smart Village to get posted on the projects implemented in the city in the field of communication and information technology.

 

He also visited the premises of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) affiliated to the Egyptian Cabinet and was given a detailed explanation on the role of the ITI in training human cadres in accordance with the latest technologies.
