Colonists raze agricultural land west of Bethlehem for benefit of expanding illegal colonial outpost

Colonists, under the protection of the Israeli forces, razed on Friday agricultural land in the town of Battir, west of Bethlehem, for the benefit of colonial expansion, according to Omar al-Qaisi, an activist.

He told WAFA that colonists from the illegal colonial outpost recently established on Palestinian residents’ land in the town, bulldozed swathes of land adjacent to the outpost, for the benefit of expanding it and erecting mobile homes there.

Al-Qaisi added that several residents attempted to confront the colonists, but the occupation soldiers attacked and opened fire at them.

He warned that these measures threaten the takeover of an additional 300 dunums of the town’s land.

The area has been subjected to colonial aggression for the past five years, the latest attack occurred a few months ago when colonists installed two mobile homes and a large structure for livestock. Colonists also prevent Palestinian locals from accessing their land.
