Three Palestinians were shot and injured with live ammunition today in an assault by army-guarded colonial Israeli settlers in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, in the occupied West Bank province of Salfit, according to local sources.

Meantime, the assailing settlers set fire to the home of a local Palestinian resident and vandalized a vehicle belonging to another one in the town. The assailants also targeted several homes in the Al-Ras area west of the town.

In response, the sources said, local residents confronted the settlers, prompting Israeli occupation soldiers to open fire with live ammunition on the local Palestinian population to secure the way of the settler assailants out of the town.

In a separate incident in the nearby village of Yasuf, a group of Israeli settlers attacked farmers in their fields. The settlers assaulted the farmers, leaving four of them injured with various degrees of bruising. Additionally, the attackers stole mobile phones and personal identification cards from the farmers.

T
error attacks by Israeli settler militias have become a common feature of the daily life under colonial settler occupation, but have seen exponential growth in recent months with the rise of ultranationalist fascism in Israel’s government coalition.
