Nablus Acting Governor Ghassan Daghlas said today that classes in all schools in the village of Burqa, northwest of the northern West Bank city, will be suspended today in light of the Israeli army’s raid last night and closure of the village roads. He said his office and the local office of the Ministry of Education decided to suspend classes to safeguard the students and teachers following last night’s Israeli army assault on the village that led to the injury of a child by a live bullet and another by shrapnel, while dozens of people suffocated from inhaling the toxic tear gas fired by the soldiers at the village homes. The Israeli army closed all access roads to the village with dirt mounds and cement blocks making movement in and out of the village impossible.
