The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, hosted a press delegation from major newspapers and magazines in China and South Korea.
The delegation members went on an introductory visit to discover the diverse tourism activities of the Egyptian tourist destination, especially in the cities of Cairo, Giza, and Alexandria.
This visit came in light of directions from Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, to highlight the tourism diversity that characterizes the Egyptian tourist destination for the country becomes the first tourist destination in the world in terms of the diversity of tourism and products.
In addition to focusing on diversifying the targeted tourist markets in a way that contributes to achieving economic tourism security and tourism sustainability, within the framework of the ministry’s new marketing policy, and working to maximize the benefit of electronic marketing for Egyptian destinations in various tourist markets by hostin
g media representatives, bloggers, and influencers who enjoy a high follow-up rate on various social media sites from the target markets.
Nermine Hanafy, General Manager of the Tourism Relations Department at the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, said the delegation’s tourism program included a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat, the Grand Egyptian Museum in Shooting Range Square, and the Giza Pyramids area.
In addition to, the delegation was entertained to a Nile cruise on a tourist boat where they enjoyed the magic of the eternal Nile and watched the artistic and folkloric shows that Egyptian art is famous for.
They also headed to Alexandria where they visited Qaitbay Citadel, the Catacomb Tombs in Kom El-Shuqafa, the Library of Alexandria, the Royal Jewelry Museum, and the Greek and Roman Museums.
The delegation expressed their admiration for the archaeological sites and museums as well as the collections that showcase the magnificence and
uniqueness of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
They were also keen to record these visits by taking souvenir photos at all the sites they visited.
