BEIJING: China is set to implement a series of strategic measures aimed at bolstering the consumption of new energy resources, according to the National Energy Administration.
The strategy consists of four crucial initiatives aimed at improving the integration and efficiency of new energy within the country’s power infrastructure, as reported China Central Television (CCTV).
Firstly, the government will expedite the development of new energy-supporting power grid projects by establishing “green channels” for key projects. Secondly, the focus will be on enhancing the system’s adjustment capacity and the coordinated development of network sources.
Thirdly, the role of the power grid as a resource allocation platform will be maximised. Power grid enterprises are encouraged to increase the proportion of trans-provincial and trans-regional transmission channels dedicated to the transportation of new energy.
Lastly, there will be a scientific optimisation of new energy utilisation targets. Regions with superior
resource conditions will be allowed to adjust their utilisation rates, with the principle that the rate should not fall below 90 percent.
