Chief of Staff Inspects Security Measures on Western Border


Cairo: Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with a group of army commanders, inspected the security measures on the western strategic direction, the army spokesman said in a statement on Sunday. Khalifa visited the Salloum land port, where he received a detailed briefing on the operational system and security measures implemented around the clock to ensure control over Egypt’s western borders.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Khalifa also visited several border points to assess the security measures and the living and administrative conditions of the armed forces personnel responsible for securing the international border in the western strategic direction. Khalifa conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr to the army personnel for their efforts in protecting the homeland.



This inspection is part of the leadership’s commitment to monitor the security situation at border crossings and points. Khalifa engaged in discussions with several personnel, listening to their opinions and inquiries, and addressed various topics of concern. He praised the high morale of the armed forces and their determination to fulfill their sacred duties in protecting the nation and its resources, as well as their efforts to combat all forms of infiltration and smuggling that threaten Egypt’s national security.



Khalifa also joined the personnel for lunch at one of the border points and conducted aerial inspections of several security checkpoints under the jurisdiction of the western military region.
