Cairo: The Charg© d’Affairs of the Indian Embassy in Cairo, C Sushma, emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts with Egypt in the economic and technological sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Sushma made these remarks during an interview with Egypt’s Nile News channel on Monday, 24th February 2025. She highlighted the embassy’s celebration of the 61st anniversary of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program. This initiative aims to share expertise with 200 partner countries and provides over 2,000 specialized courses across various domains.
Sushma also noted that since its inception, the ITEC program has greatly benefited Egypt, with 2,500 scholarships and training courses being offered annually across all specializations. The program, which began in 1964, was established as a bilateral assistance initiative by the government of India.
