The Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) organized for the first time a session as part of activities of the 7th Cairo Water Week, themed “building peace through governance of water in countries affected by disputes.”

In a statement on Saturday 19/10/2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates said the session offered an important opportunity for probing challenges related to climate change and the failure to achieve water security in countries in turmoil.

This session discussed as well challenges which affect adaptation and mitigation efforts that aim to promote access to water in the Arab world and the African continent.

Cairo Water Week 2024, whose main theme is “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Communities,” underscores the crucial role of water management in addressing the escalating impacts of climate change.

In a world where climate patterns grow increasingly erratic, communities globally confront heightened r
isks, including floods, droughts, and extreme weather events that challenge their very foundations.
