CBJ warns against interacting with phishing links

The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) warned all citizens against interacting with any suspicious links or phone calls that request personal information , primarily the national ID, or financial details for the purpose of updating their e-wallets, or conducting cash remittances.

In a statement Wednesday, the bank said financial service providers “do not contact customers by phone to request any financial or personal information.”

To resolve any issues, the CBJ called on citizens to contact their e-wallet companies by visiting the nearest branch, or contacting the official customer service center posted on their websites.

In case the e-wallet firms fail to respond, the CBJ urged citizens to contact its Financial Consumer Protection Department.
