CBE Signs Cooperation Protocol with Health Ministry’s Medical Fund.

Cairo: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has formalized a cooperation protocol with the Health Ministry’s Medical Emergency and Genetic and Rare Disease Fund. The signing ceremony was attended by Hassan Abdallah, Governor of the CBE, and Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ghada Tawfik, the Governor’s Adviser for Corporate Social Responsibility, signed the agreement on behalf of the CBE. Ibrahim Abdel-Aty, Executive Director of the Emergency Medical and Genetic Disease Fund, represented the Fund during the signing. This protocol is part of the ‘New Beginning for Human Building’ initiative, which was introduced by the Ministerial Group for Human Development in September and will continue over a span of 100 days.

The protocol aligns with presidential directives aimed at addressing patient waiting lists and enhancing access to healthcare services. The cooperation seeks to facilitate necessary surgic
al procedures for critical cases and provide treatment for individuals suffering from rare or genetically caused diseases, especially those lacking health insurance coverage.

Additionally, the protocol aims to offer financial support to citizens to cover healthcare costs in public, private, and non-profit hospitals. During the signing, Abdallah emphasized that the protocol underscores the CBE’s commitment to engaging in presidential initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for Egyptian citizens and promote human development.
