Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Sunday that the UAE investments in Egypt have leapfrogged during the first half of Fiscal Year 2021-2022, reaching some 1.9 billion dollars.
This is a rise by 169.1 percent on 712.6 million dollars worth of UAE investments in Egypt during the same period in 2020-2021.
The volume of trade exchange between the two Arab countries increased to 1.2 billion dollars during the first quarter of 2022 up from 1.1 billion during the same period in 2021, the CBE said, noting that this is a 1.4-percent rise.
Egypt’s imports from the UAE declined by 19 percent to 642.9 million dollars in the first quarter of 2022 down from 793.3 million during the same period in 2021.
Egyptian exports to the UAE increased by 69.5 percent to 576.7 million dollars in the first quarter of 2022 up from 340.2 million during the same period in 2021.
