Canada’s Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly began Tuesday a visit to Lebanon that is set to end tomorrow (Wednesday).
At Beirut airport she was received by Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon, Stefanie McCollum, and personnel from the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.
Joly’s trip is part of a tour that includes Turkey and Greece.
A statement by the Canadian Foreign Minister said that “while in Lebanon, Minister Joly will also underscore Canada’s support for Lebanon and Lebanese people in their current challenges and reaffirm Canada’s commitment to regional stability.”
Her visit program includes talks with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, House Speaker Nabih Berri, Amy Commander General Joseph Aoun, and UNIFIL Commander Major General Aroldo Lazaro.
