Amid significant global momentum, Egypt is set to welcome delegations and high-profile officials from various countries for the 12th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12).
þThe event, scheduled to be held on November 4-8, will be organised by the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), in co-operation with the Ministry of Housing and the Ministry of Local Development.
þThe forum is a key global event within the UN agenda on urbanisation and sustainable urban development. þThe worldwide event underlines Egypt’s strategic position as the first African country to host the forum in 20 years.
Egypt is a regional and worldwide leader in development and peace.
It prioritises urban growth. It was one of the first countries to adopt the new urban agenda, as seen by the high number of urban development initiatives, such as new 4G cities, as well as efforts to enhance quality of life, such as the ‘Decent Life’ initiative and the project to eliminate slums.
