Cairo-Lisbon direct flight reopens

Egypt’s Ambassador to Portugal, Wael El Naggar, and embassy members welcomed the first direct EgyptAir flight from Cairo to Lisbon on July 23 at Lisbon International Airport, marking the route’s re-launch after a suspension since 2011.

The arrival ceremony included the director of EgyptAir’s Madrid office, the head of the commercial sector of the Portuguese Airports Authority, and several airport officials.

The route will operate two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer, with an increase anticipated for the winter season. This route is expected to open a new tourism market for Egypt, attracting visitors from Brazil, the United States, and Canada, which have frequent flights to Lisbon Airport.
