Cairo Int’l Book Fair Reflects Vision of New Republic


Cairo: Head of the General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO) Ahmed Bahyeldin asserted the keenness of the Egyptian state to make Cairo International Book Fair an event that reflects the vision of the new republic which aims at building the awareness of citizens and promoting the national personality. He told Extra News TV channel on Saturday 18/1/2025, that the Ministry of Culture will use all its potential to strongly participate in the fair.



According to State Information Service Egypt, preparations are in full swing for the start of the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, which is the biggest cultural event in the region and the Arab world. Bahyeldin highlighted several developments related to the event’s organization this year, aimed at boosting the book trade and enhancing the Egyptian and Arab readers’ experience.



Cairo International Book Fair is not just a book marketplace but rather a national cultural extravaganza that features many events and activities where readers, writers, and thinkers meet to address a vast array of issues, ideas, and visions. More than 1,300 publishing houses and 6,000 exhibitors will participate in the event, in which 80 countries are taking part.



The event will start on January 23 and run until February 5.
